NEW YORK (April 27, 2026) — After bringing America Reads the Bible into millions of homes across the country, Great American Media is inviting Americans to participate in America Sings the Anthem, a nationwide call to share their rendition of The Star-Spangled Banner in honor of America’s 250th birthday.

As part of this historic milestone, Great American Media aims to celebrate the enduring spirit and patriotism of the United States by issuing a national call for voices from across the country to participate. From students and choirs to service members, first responders, families, and entire communities, Americans are invited to take part in a shared expression of gratitude, pride, and unity.

“The National Anthem is more than a song — it’s a sacred reminder of the courage, sacrifice, and enduring spirit that make our freedoms possible,” said Bill Abbott, President & CEO of Great American Media. “After witnessing the powerful way Americans came together to read Scripture, we felt called to create another shared moment — one that is simple, unifying, and deeply meaningful. Submissions will be accepted through May 31, 2026. Beginning July 4, select performances will be featured across Great American Media platforms as part of a national showcase highlighting voices from communities across the country.

As part of the initiative, Great American Media is also continuing its commitment to tradition by featuring the national anthem daily at 6:00 a.m. on Great American Family. Through America Sings the Anthem, Americans from across the country will be invited to help open the broadcast day, bringing real voices into homes each morning in a moment of reflection and unity.

America Sings the Anthem reflects Great American Media’s ongoing mission to champion content that celebrates faith, family, and country, offering viewers meaningful, values-driven programming and opportunities to participate in shared national moments.

The initiative is open to individuals and groups of all ages. Participants are encouraged to record their performance wherever they are, at home, on their front porch, at school, in church, on base, or in their community. There are no rankings or winners. Instead, submissions will be reviewed for inclusion, with featured performances representing a broad cross-section of voices, traditions, and experiences from across the nation.

Erika Kirk to Read Gospel Account at ‘America Reads the Bible’ Friday

Turning Point USA CEO joins Dallas Jenkins, Franklin Graham, Mike Pompeo and others in national Scripture reading event

WASHINGTON, DC (April 23, 2026) — Erika Kirk, who stepped into leadership of Turning Point USA following the tragic loss of her husband, Charlie Kirk, will join America Reads the Bible Friday evening as the national event enters its sixth day.



Live streamed on Great American Pure Flix and held at the Museum of the Bible in celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, the weeklong, cover-to-cover Bible reading, featuring nearly 500 leaders, will transition from the Old Testament to the New Testament on Friday, April 24.



In a pre-recorded segment, Kirk, wearing a white blazer and a green “Freedom” cap, will read the account of Jesus Christ’s resurrection, including the discovery of the empty tomb and His post-resurrection appearances.

She will be joined by a notable lineup of leaders and cultural voices, including Dallas Jenkins, Franklin Graham, Mike Pompeo, Rebekah Allick, Julia Reilly, Laura Osnes, and Brett Varvel.

Since launching April 19, millions have tuned in via Pure Flix or attended in person. Earlier this week, a recorded reading by Donald Trump from 2 Chronicles 7:11–22 marked a historic moment—the first time since Ronald Reagan that a sitting president has publicly read the passage.

America Reads the Bible was inspired in 2024 when Bunni Pounds, founder of Christians Engaged, envisioned a national call to Scripture reading and discipleship during a visit to the Museum of the Bible.

Historic Moment as Sitting President Participates in Weeklong Public Reading of Scripture

WASHINGTON — April 21, 2026 — America Reads the Bible marked a historic moment Tuesday evening when President Donald J. Trump read 2 Chronicles 7:11–22 as part of the ongoing weeklong public reading of Scripture at the Museum of the Bible.

The President’s reading, prerecorded in the Oval Office and broadcast during the 6 p.m. ET hour, centered on one of the most widely cited passages in American spiritual life: “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”

The selection reflects a passage long associated with prayer, humility, and national reflection. While presidents throughout American history have quoted Scripture, none have read a lengthy, uninterrupted section of Scripture from the Oval Office, occurring without commentary or being integrated into a speech or public address. Not since President Ronald Reagan in the 1980s has a sitting president quoted the popular passage to the nation.

From Vision to Reality: America Reads the Bible, April 18–25

WASHINGTON, D.C. (March 26, 2026) — A moment of inspiration inside the Museum of the Bible in 2024 has grown into a national gathering centered on Scripture during a milestone year in American history.

During that visit, Bunni Pounds, founder and president of Christians Engaged, said she felt led to organize a public call to Bible reading and discipleship—an idea that has become America Reads the Bible.

From April 18–25, 2026, nearly 500 Christian leaders and 120 ministries will gather in Washington, D.C., for a continuous, week-long reading of Scripture from Genesis to Revelation. Hosted at the World Stage Theater inside the Museum of the Bible and livestreamed nationally on Great American Pure Flix, the event will launch two weeks after Easter, to coincide with the 250th anniversary of the United States.

Organized around the theme “One Week. One Nation. One Book,” the gathering is designed to highlight the enduring role of Scripture in shaping both personal faith and the broader American story.

“The vision was to see leaders from across the country publicly express their dependence on Scripture—and invite others to do the same,” Pounds said.

The week will begin with an opening event on April 18, 7 p.m. EST at National Community Church (Capitol Turnaround), followed by seven full days of readings April 19-25 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. EST at the Museum of the Bible. Thousands are expected to participate in person and via livestream at PureFlix.com.

Hosted by Christians Engaged in partnership with Great American Pure Flix and a coalition of ministries, America Reads the Bible is positioned as more than a single gathering but as a growing movement focused on discipleship, Scripture engagement and long-term spiritual renewal.

The format of the event draws from a consistent pattern found in Scripture: public reading as a catalyst for revival. Organizers point to moments in the Old Testament — such as the leadership of King Josiah and the readings led by Ezra and Nehemiah — when the declaration of God’s Word preceded repentance and restoration.

Following that model, participants will read Scripture aloud throughout the week, representing a wide range of backgrounds and professions, while emphasizing a shared commitment to the Bible as a foundational text.

Star-Studded Opening Launches National Bible Reading for America’s 250th Anniversary

(February 11, 2026) — A star-studded gathering of celebrities, ministry leaders, and elected officials will kick off America Reads the Bible, a week-long, nationwide Scripture-reading event commemorating America’s 250th birthday, with a live-streamed opening celebration, April 18 at 7 PM ET.

The event will be held at the National Community Church in Washington, D.C. Great American Pure Flix has the honor of streaming the 90-minute opening celebration, which will feature some of the nation’s most recognizable voices sharing personal stories about the transformative impact of the Bible in their lives.

Featured Participants

Participating in the opening ceremony are Patricia Heaton (Everybody Loves Raymond, The Middle), representatives from Congress and the Administration, and national spokespersons Cameron and BJ Arnett (The Forge, CEO’s Camy Arnett Production Studios) and Candace Cameron Bure (Actress and CEO CandyRock Entertainment).

Bill Abbott Appoints Denise Crayne as Chief Financial Officer

NEW YORK, NY — February 4, 2026 — Great American Media today announced the appointment of Denise Crayne, CPA, as Chief Financial Officer, effective immediately. Crayne will report directly to Chairman and CEO Bill Abbott and will oversee all finance, accounting, tax, and strategic planning functions across the company.

Crayne brings more than two decades of senior financial leadership experience across media, entertainment, SaaS, and private equity-backed organizations. She is known for building disciplined, high-performing finance teams and for guiding companies through periods of growth, transformation, and complex strategic initiatives.

“Denise is a proven financial leader with deep experience in media, technology, and global operations,” said Bill Abbott, Chairman and CEO of Great American Media. “She understands how to balance growth with discipline, and she brings the kind of steady, strategic leadership that supports long-term value creation. Most recently, Crayne served as Chief Financial Officer of Music Reports, Inc., where she led all finance, accounting, and tax functions and acted as a strategic advisor to the CEO, board, and private equity ownership. In that role, she oversaw financial planning and analysis, audit and tax compliance, acquisition modeling, and post-acquisition integration, while also leading ROI analysis for technology, AI, and go-to-market investments.

Prior to Music Reports, Crayne was Senior Vice President and Head of Finance, Accounting, and Business Operations at the World Surf League, where she led a full finance transformation across multiple business units and international offices. Her work included implementing NetSuite ERP, centralizing finance operations, modernizing FP&A, strengthening cash management, and leading the league’s first-ever audited financial statements under U.S. GAAP. She also oversaw enterprise IT, cybersecurity initiatives, and global risk management.

Earlier in her career, Crayne served as Vice President, Global Controller at Universal Pictures Home Entertainment, overseeing global controllership for a roughly $1 billion revenue business spanning physical, digital, and content acquisition operations. She began her career at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where she spent more than a decade leading audits for Fortune 100 entertainment and media clients.

Crayne is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in New York and California and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Boston University’s Questrom School of Business, where she graduated summa cum laude. In 2024, she was named a Los Angeles Business Journal CFO of the Year in the Emerging Growth Company category.

NEW YORK — January 12, 2026 — Great American Media today announced that Paige Havins has joined the company as Deputy General Counsel, reporting to Bill Abbott, President and CEO.

Havins brings more than a decade of in-house legal experience with a strong transactional focus, including drafting, negotiating, and managing a wide range of internal and external agreements. Her background spans telecommunications, technology, sports, entertainment, and insurance, giving her a practical, well-rounded perspective on the legal and business needs of a growing media company.

“Paige is a thoughtful, solutions-oriented legal leader with a strong understanding of how smart legal strategy supports growth,” said Abbott. “Her depth of experience across multiple industries, combined with her collaborative approach, makes her a great addition to our leadership team as we continue to build and scale Great American Media.”

Prior to joining Great American Media, Havins served as Deputy General Counsel at Likewize, a global technology device protection firm headquartered in the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex. In that role, she supported legal research, risk management, and commercial growth initiatives across the global organization.

In addition to her corporate legal work, Havins is an adjunct professor at Trinity Law School, where she teaches Contracts. She brings real-world experience into the classroom, helping prepare the next generation of legal professionals for practice.

Havins earned her Juris Doctor from Texas Tech University School of Law and is committed to lifelong learning and professional excellence. She is actively engaged in her community, volunteering through her local church and previously serving with the Junior League, coaching with Special Olympics Texas, and participating on the board of a local community credit union.

She lives in the Dallas–Fort Worth area with her family and values mentoring others, supporting meaningful causes, and building strong professional and personal relationships.
